ROOTS TO BOOTS
Your Ancestral Journey

History isn’t found in a textbook—it’s found in the local pub and the quiet village church.

The Passion Behind the Search

After nearly 50 years of research, Glynn Burrows discovered that his own ancestors lived within a fifty-mile radius of his home for centuries. This deep connection to the soil is what he brings to your journey.

"There is a unique thrill in standing beside the font where your ancestor was christened in 1623, or kneeling at the altar where their parents were married in 1620. I’ve walked the lanes my forebears walked and even had lunch in their local pubs. My mission is to give you that same 'buzz' of discovery."

How Your Journey Begins

An English Connection vacation is designed to be effortless. You simply arrange your flights; we handle the heritage.

  1. The Discovery Call: We’ll chat via Zoom or WhatsApp to discuss your family tree or the specific English interests you want to explore.

  2. The Custom Itinerary: Glynn sets to work crafting a first draft—incorporating ancestral sites, medieval buildings, or hidden gardens.

  3. The Final Detail: We book the historic accommodations and arrange the logistics.

  4. The Arrival: You land in the UK, and your private historian is there to meet you. From that moment on, everything is sorted: the days out, the hidden stories, and the perfect country meals.

The Experience:
An Immersive 10-Day Sample

What does a bespoke ancestral tour actually look like? Here is a glimpse into a recent journey:

Day 1-2: The Gateway. Arrival and a relaxing introduction to the medieval streets and "secret" colleges of Cambridge.

Day 3: The Friendly Invasion. A visit to the US Cemetery and the hangars of Duxford, paying respects to the WWII history that connects our nations.

Day 4-5: The Ancestral Heart. We visit your family’s parish. Imagine reading your ancestor's original 1776 Will aloud while standing at their graveside, or seeing the exact cottage where they raised their family.

Day 6-7: Stately Splendor. Explore Blickling Hall (home of the Boleyns) and the "living" history of Felbrigg Hall, followed by a deep dive into the Norman Cathedral and Castle of Norwich.

Day 8-9: Royal Roots & Rural Life. A visit to the Sandringham Royal Estate, followed by a "hands-on" day on a local farm, experiencing the same tools and horse-drawn equipment your ancestors used as laborers.

Day 10: A comfortable drive back to the airport for your journey home.
